Summer always goes by too quickly doesn’t it? Already I’m watching my calendar fill up with both Photography Sessions and personal family functions! I’ve been trying to find a way to post a calendar showing open dates, but as of now I do not have this capability on my site. So, I just wanted to share that availability for summer sessions is beginning to become more sparse. In the past two weeks, I’ve had many inquires, and a good handfull of bookings. If you’re considering a Portrait Session - please call to discuss the details and find out about availability. If we’ve already chatted and you do want to book, I encourage you to do so as soon as possible. Sessions are booked on a first come first serve basis.

I don’t post pictures of my own kids very often, and honestly don’t know why!? Quinn is 4.5 and Keira is just over a month shy of 3. So, we recently went strawberry picking, and I managed to snap a few. This orchard, Bowman’s - in the Albany area is such a great place to go from the spring through the fall. Strawberry picking is now, moving into other berries/fruits, and their highlight… the apples. They have a play area for children, and animals for them to see too. And you don’t want to miss the killer bakery and little shop on your way out. I love supporting local buisnesses, so this is right up my alley!

Although I may be a bit biased - LOL - I think it’s a great place for family pictures too! Haven’t done a session there….yet! any takers?

Over the last few years, I think I’ve really learned that you can’t be set in stone with anything - in life, or in buisness. I always welcome feedback from clients, and try to tweak things to meet their needs. I’d been playing with the idea of including some prints with my digital collections - but just couldn’t seem to settle on anything that felt like the right compliment. After talking to a few people, and one recent client in particular (thanks A!) I’ve decided to give proof sets a go! Basically with any collection - Mini or Standard - digital or prints I will be including a complimentary set of proof images from the session. It does seem like a perfect way to say thank you, and for families to really remember their session. Clients will be given the choice of selecting a set of 4×6 Proofs - or a disc with websized Proofs for their personal use. Would love to hear your thoughts — feel free to leave a comment!

As I posted earlier, I was luck enough to photograph this blonde beauty. I’ve done several past sessions for her and her family - nothing just focused on “MOM” . It really was a last minute Father’s Day gift idea - which proved to be an amazing session! Like anyone, it’s easy to get nervous in front of the camera. But, as I told her - you just need to relax, take the guidance of your photographer, and think loving thoughts. All the rest will unfold on it’s own. Obviously I’m a bit limited on which images I can share - but really wanted to give you just a taste of what a Boudoir session can be. I really can’t think of anyone who wouldn’t love a session, where you feel beautiful, and sexy. She was thrilled - even saying “I’ve never had a more beautiful picture taken of me in my life…” and her husband was thrilled with his gift of dreamy pictures of the love of his life…

Yesterday, I had my very first Boudoir session…and I think I’m in love. Not that long ago, a fellow photographer friend took some beautiful pictures of me. Not boudior, but just ones that make you feel great about yourself - especially as you see yourself starting to age. I’ve been wanting to play with Boudoir Sessions for women for a while - and the perfect opportunity arose. She’s gifting them to her husband - Photographs for Father’s Day… perfect little present don’t you think? So, if you’ve ever thought about doing “sexy” pictures of yourself - I strongly encourage you to really consider booking a session. If you haven’t - think about it…who couldn’t use a feel great about yourself & your body pick me up. I will try to post a few - just want to clear them with her first…

Based off these pictures, you’d never think the Mom was worried about how the boys would be! We spent a great late afternoon in Congress Park - just a bit north of Albany, NY. Such a beautiful park - with great variation and a lot for little boys to look at! As I tell all parents with little ones - sessions need to be relaxed, playful, and patient! I snap a lot and play a lot - kids warm up fast to adults who giggle with them and get down to their level. These two little guys were adorable! You can already tell…they’ll be the best of friends. Thank you A for contacting me - it really was great meeting all of you!!

Often I hear clients asking - “How would you group these? - Which would you hang? How Many?” So, I’ve been trying to mock up a quick view with an option or two that I like when sending a client their gallery. Depending on the look you like - symetrical or not; you can easily cluster images from a session to create a stunning wall display! When selecting images, I look for ones with similar coloring or tones - when an image is processed different - say very vibrant or vintage and the others aren’t - it pulls attention not necessarily the way you want it to. So, start by selecting a favorite or a few favorites. Then, see what other images you could group with it as compliments. Generally, I like to have one image be the main focus and therefore largest. Try to alter the sizes - but becareful not to go really big, and then really small. Buying the same style frame keeps the lines the same, and again won’t distract away from the images! Another great idea is to play with the layout on the floor after you’ve placed the images in the frames. Nice not to have holes all over your walls! Last tip - have someone else around when you hang them. It’s always helpful to have a set of eyes viewing the wall straight on and from a bit of a distance.

Adorable is an understatement for this little one! I’ve been honored to get to know the family over the last few years. We’ve gone from Maternity photos, to Newborn portraits, and now a first birthday. I love when I get to make connections like that with people. And to know that I’m helping you remember these times forever…well that’s why I do what I do! Still working on the images from this session, but wanted to share a few - enjoy!

I LOVE Maternity sessions - I know I’ve said it before, but the lines of a pregnant woman’s body are so beautiful! And although I do process in color sometimes too…the simplicity of Black and White just lets the belly stand on it’s own.

This will be baby number 2 for this gorgeous mommy. Not too far off now! Simply a stunning belly to photograph!>
