Great Community Members - Albany, NY Family Photographer
Last weekend I had the opportunity to meet this wonderful couple. Positive energy beamed from them :) and as we got to know one another, I quickly learned about some wonderful things they do in the community! He’s a Reverend, and she is the principal at a K-12 School. We began at the church, in hopes to get some shots for them to use on their website! As we walked around, a flourishing organic garden that resides in their front yard caught me eye! They turned this entire section into a garden, sell the vegetables, and if my memory serves me right —- they proceeds to go a local mission! I’ll have to get the specifics on it, and repost! I always find it so heartwarming, and motivating to learn of these types of stories. It’s so easy to just go on with your day to day life. So easy to think you don’t have time to give back, or know how….. it’s inspiring to hear what others are doing — and how possible it is to make a positive impact in your community!
After some church photos, and a lot of laughs — we took a quick ride down to the water a few blocks from the church. Quaint path - and the newly turning leaves added that touch of Autumn feel that makes you smile.
I’m so glad I got to meet them, and work with them. Really looking forward to working through the rest of their session, and sharing the images with them…

Backyard Family Fun - Albany, NY Family Photographer

This is the second time I’ve worked with this adorable family - the first was shortly after their oldest son was born. I was so excited to see them all again, and of course to meet the newest family member…so adorable! As most sessions with a “toddler” :) we move all over the place! Mom’s and Dad’s honestly work as hard as I do to get their little munchkins to cooperate - and as I’ve said before — playing is the best secret! This blonde curly haired cutie and I ran all over the yard - it’s just the way it goes. Raisins were a big hit - and allowed a few quick shots of him sitting with Dad. As I tell clients — it may feel hectic, but we always walk away with what we want - and like the others, this family had some great images to select from!
Although this wasn’t a “newborn” session - we were sure to try to build a bit of that in too…
cute hu??? don’t you just want to kiss those feet???

Ok - one last one —- and last tip…a flip upside down and tickle moment always swings right into postive energy!

Boudoir - Boudoir - Boudoir — Albany, NY Photographer
Well this seems to be the word of the month!
I’ve been getting so many inquiries for this type of session - and actually I had one this morning! I didn’t realize that there really aren’t that many photographers in the area who do them, or maybe advertise that they do. I personally, LOVE them! It’s a great hour spent making a woman feel beautiful and sexy — how could it not be fun? Most initial inquiries are always with a bit of reservation… and I often hear/read ….”I can’t believe I’m even thinking about this!” Very understandable that nerves would creep in a bit! I think the women I’ve talked and worked with would tell you how quickly that feeling dissolves - and is replaced by excitement. Bottom line really - men are visual creatures!!!! I love the idea of giving these type of photos as a birthday or anniversary gift. Don’t know about you, but I try so hard to come up with unique ideas for my husband’s presents… and unfortunately resort to a golf something more often than I’d like to admit! LOL
The way I’m currently running these sessions is to take all the final session images - once approved by the client of course! - and order them in a bound, hardcover book. Proofs are given as digital files so they can be shared if you wanted, or easily loaded to a phone :) The books are perfect - beautifully layed out, and customized to each client.
If you’ve ever considered this type of session - I really do encourage you to give me a call and chat about it! If you haven’t…think about it! I will try to post what I can about these sessions, and of course share the photos I’m given permission to share- with you.
Check back for updates and samples from this session!!!

Final Rose Garden Session: Albany, NY Family Photographer
Not a big secret that I LOVE the Rose Garden area in Schen. Central Park! For those of you not overly familiar with the area, Schenectady is just a bit west of Albany, NY. It’s hard not to have the brillant colors of the plethera of rose blooms draw you right in!! And if roses aren’t your thing, there are plenty of other visually appealing areas to shoot in. This was my first session with this family - who I know quite well! I taught Elementary Education previously, and had their daughter in my class! She was much younger then - so it was really great to see how much she’s changed, and what a beautiful young lady she’s become! The whole family is adorable, and so lighthearted…even the puppy!!!
Enjoy —-

*He’s going to work with me in the Spring for my High School Senior Photo Rep. Program! A great opportunity for Juniors to earn their Senior Portraits, and get some unique pictures that really celebrate their coming Senior year!

Incredible High School Senior Portrait Session ~ Albany, NY Photographer
Incredible doesn’t really even come close to really describing how this session went! Mom, Dad and daughter show up at my home, and right away I thought, she is ADORABLE!!!! Now Mom had already told me that she was very photogenic….but ya know - us parents love our kids, and think we all know we can be a bit biased! LOL
We started with a backdrop, just to give the option for a non-outdoor look….i don’t even know if it took 3 seconds for the magic to begin in the beautiful girls eyes. Natural talent is really all I can say! She casually looks at the camera, and the smile creeps across her face - apple checkbones round out - - and then the eyes twinkle - staring right into your soul! I can’t even count how many times I said….”unreal” that day! LOL As we got to know one another — the pictures kept getting better and better. And as I told her….I tried to pull back and take some full body, and further away shots —- within seconds I’d be drawn right back in close….couldn’t help myself…those eyes!!! I could have shot them all day long!
All women would love to have long, thick lashes — and most of us are able to achieve that look, work with what we have and some good mascara - and we can get close. Hold your jaw…she had NO MASCARA ON!!!!! AGH! Insane blue eyes - dark rim - long black lashes —– ALL NATURAL!!!!
Obviously I had a great time with this family, and was honored to have worked with this beauty! As I told her parents…she belongs on photo sessions, and in front of a camera — simply beautiful!
Enjoy the images…
