Jennifer and George – Albany, NY Wedding Photographer

With all of the rain we’ve been having the Capital Region, most recent Brides and Grooms would tell you that they had their fingers crossed for good weather on their special day.  Jennifer and George ended up with a dry, and beautiful day for their June wedding at the Albany, NY Marriott.

When I arrived at the Marriott, George and a few of his groomsmen were relaxing out front.  We’d be tagging up in a bit, but of course I had to go find Jennifer and photograph her dress first!   So many of the dresses brides are selecting still have that classic feel, with added  beautiful details.  And whoever had the “fake button” idea was a genius!

This adorable couple did decide to have a first glance prior to the ceremony.  I honestly love that this is becoming the norm, and that couples are letting go of the idea of not seeing one another before the wedding.  I understand the romantic idea of coming down the isle and that being the first time to see one another.   But as I tell couples, you STILL HAVE THAT!  It just ends up being a moment between the two of you ( and your photographer of course) .  The day is about the two of you – but as past Brides and Grooms know, it can get a bit hectic as you try to spend time with all of their guests that have come to celebrate with them.   Couples really don’t get time alone together – to take it all in – to tell each other how beautiful and handsome they look.  That’s why I think a first glance is perfect.  Everything stops for just those few minutes.  It really is the perfect way to start a wedding.

Generally, a quick portrait session with just the Bride and Groom will follow.  Again, this is quality time spent together.  No other distractions, just the two of them.  Having some of these photos done before the ceremony, also allows the couple to get to at least part of their cocktail hour!   Jennifer and George had smiles from ear to ear.  We used the courtyard for their portraits.

These two had a few minutes before the ceremony started.  I love the color their girls wore.  So bright and fun! The ceremony was beautiful, and very personal to Jennifer and George.  Again, the smiles were present from start to finish.

After dinner the dancing started.  All having a wonderful time, celebrating with Jennifer and George.  Congrats again you two!!!!
