Tina and Jason’s Wedding at Highland Park, Rochester NY – Albany, NY Wedding Photographer

So right from the title you may be wondering how it is that I shot a wedding in Rochester, NY.  I’m from there originally, and I have a very large extended family who still live there.   To most people’s surprise, it really is only a 3 hour drive from Albany, NY.       Although we’re pretty busy visiting family when we make drives out there, I do keep in touch with a few friends from high school.  Tina is one of them!  I had met Jason a few years ago, and was so happy to see my sweet friend happy and smiling.  I was ecstatic when I listened to the voicemail from Tina asking me to be their wedding photographer!

Both the ceremony and reception would be at a lodge located in the beautiful Highland Park.   Tina explained that after booking the lodge to hold the reception, she stumbled on photos of the Poet’s Garden – saying “I want to get married there!”  They had no idea until looking further, that the Poet’s Garden was located steps from the lodge.  And as you can see… it is gorgeous!

Both Tina and Jason have children.  Boys.  Lots and lots of boys!  Between the two of them there are 5.  Yes… that’s F-I-V-E!!!!!!   All adorable, and loved so much by their parents.  I loved that Tina’s sons escorted her to Jason.  The ceremony was the perfect celebration of their joining families.

We took time to shoot just the newly wed’s after their ceremony.  I’m so happy with their images.   As most couples will tell you, it may not be easy to break away from the reception, but they do end up enjoying some time alone.  And of course, when great imagery results from their efforts, it’s always worth it.

Of course we had to come up with something fun to do with the boys.  As soon as I caught a glimpse of the colorful socks they were wearing – I knew I’d start there!  Such a fun detail.  Tina jumped in after a few frames, and with a little prompting from me, we came away with some great shots!  Talk about life with boys!  Congratulations again to ALL OF YOU!
