Again, and again! – Albany, NY Boudoir Photographer

Probably the biggest compliment you can receive from your clients is them booking another session with you!

Alex and I have now had the chance to work together many, many times.  Some have been projects we’ve both been called in for, but majority has been having her back in front of my lens as a client.

If you’ve ever had professional portraits taken – you know it can be a bit nerve wracking to see a camera in your face!  I’ve heard people say it can be intimidating – and they are sometimes surprised at how  nervous they feel.   I personally think it has everything to do with emotion.  If you really think about it – the best portraits are those that evoke an emotion in the viewer.  To get that emotion… well – that falls a lot on the subject!  Of course your photographer should be helping you get there – and maybe even giving the suggestions.  Bottom line though – if you don’t connect with the camera its not going to happen!  A bit of acting has to happen…

I’ve mentioned before, that I have little tricks I use to help my clients relax.  I really can see the confidence grow throughout the session.  As we progress, and feel more comfortable we’ll try poses that require more of that eye contact and body language.

Since Alex and I have worked together (as well as her and Erica my stylist)  it’s easy for us to really push out of the box and try something new!  With this session – we started inside at the beautiful Morgan State House in Albany, NY.  After a few looks, we made the move the stunning garden outside!  I had already seen the vintage styled dresses she brought – so the wheels were turning.  Fire escapes, and many building on the State Street neighborhood lent themselves so well to the vintage feel!

Alex is so much fun to work with – looking forward to many more sessions together in the future!
