Cheers to the Cocktail Hour – Albany, NY Wedding Photographer

It’s more and more common to hear Brides and Grooms express their desire to enjoy their cocktail hour with their guests.  The only issue is getting formal shots of the bridal party and family – as well as some photos of the couple themselves.  When do you do these if not just after the ceremony?  An early first glance is the perfect option!  This couple had those exact wishes – to Enjoy the Cocktail Hour.  As we mapped out their day – we decided to have the couple see one another for the first time before the ceremony.  The Groom was lead outside of the beautiful Stockade Inn where their ceremony and reception would take place.  Within a few minutes he could hear the faint sound of his Bride’s shoes clicking on the ground.  It’s so much fun to be the observer during this – you can not only see, but really feel the anticipation build!  The gentle tap on the shoulder – the turning to see her for the first time – the utter joy… well it’s priceless!

With this happy couple – we continued to take their Couple photos in a few locations around the Stockade Inn in Schenectady, NY.   At their request, we gathered their children after we returned and also took formal portraits with them.  The kids brought a fun energy to the pictures, and were delighted to have some alone time with their parents who were going to soon be Husband and Wife – blending their two families.  Many people don’t think of that part – or realize how important that quality personal time with those closest to you will be, and how much it will mean to you in the future that you had it.  It’s just a simple fact, that once the cocktail hour, and reception begins – gathering the bridal party back together… well it usually doesn’t happen!  These two were able to relax, enjoy spending time with the guests who came to celebrate with them – and had no worry of getting those important photos or time.

This is such a great option for couples who really want to enjoy their Cocktail Hour!
