When someone contacts me and says… “I want YOU to be our wedding photographer!” I can’t help but smile! These are going to be some of the most important photos in this couples lives – what an honor to be the one who gets to capture them! After discussing the type of coverage they wanted – we quickly starting chatting details of an engagement session. As with any session – we talk first about the type of feel they want their images to have. For these guys, a mix of pretty, and rustic – perfect combo! 2 outfits – one more casual, one dressier. Couples sometimes laugh when I say that I have a pop up changing room – so they can change outfit easily…. Yes I really do have one! Anytime you can change your look – you’ll add variety to your session.
Of course your engagement session is going to give you engagement photos -and ones you can use for an announcement or save the date. BUT! More importantly – it’s going to give you the opportunity to get to know your photographer. I loved chatting with them – hearing their history . Especially with these two! They’ve been together since their early teens!!!! Incredible! As well as getting to know me, and me getting to know you – the experience in front of a camera is huge. Everyone gets nervous initially. It takes a bit of time to warm up. With guidance from me – we’ll work through it, and incorporate a variety of poses. Once you see your engagement pictures – and see how incredible they turned out – then you’ll really be confident that your wedding portraits will be amazing. Almost like we need that reassurance that we’ll look good! Well, at least for us the ladies! ; )
These were some of their favorites. 2 others – not seen here (some things have to be kept a secret) will be gracing their save the date cards. Loved working with Whitney and Chris -really looking forward to capturing their wedding in 2013.
