Jenny & Brian’s Barn Wedding – Albany, NY Wedding Photographer

What started as a rainy morning, certainly turned into a beautiful late afternoon for this adorable couple.  Jenny and Brian chose the historic Mabee Farm venue for their ceremony and reception.  I’d never been there, so it was fun to roam the grounds to see all that it had to offer!  This large barn above, is where the reception was held.  Rustic, and romantic!  Barn/Farm weddings are becoming the “in” thing.  I booked my first “Barn Wedding” over a year ago – coming this Fall – and shortly after 2 more were added to the list.

Theadministration building that’s off to the side of the property had very pretty stone work – however, it was modern.  Given that the Bride and Groom chose a “Barn” for their special day – it just didn’t seem to be the right fit to use.  It really was fun to find ways to incorporate where they were – the elements of the Barn, even for the detail shots of the bouquet and rings!

One of my favorite parts of a wedding are the vows – and of course that first kiss!  But I may even say, that the ear to ear smiles that stretch across the couple’s faces – may take the cake.  It’s so effortless, and so full of pure joy!

We moved into their family, and bridal party shots immediately after – and got them into their cocktail hour ASAP!  After dinner, I grabbed them – with the promise of just for a few minutes – to get some additional shots of just the two of them.  It is important to make time for these portraits, as you’ll cherish them forever – and they are likely to be the ones that grace your walls for years to come.  However – I personally feel that you need to enjoy your wedding and be with your guests.  A few minutes here and there over the course of your reception works perfectly.

Impressive, is probably not the best word to use to describe Brian and Jenny’s first dance!  They did take lessons, and danced beautifully to Stevie Wonder’s – You are the Sunshine of My Life .  Again, those smiles…. well you see what I mean!

It truly was an honor to photograph their wedding.  Best Wishes for a happy life together!!
