Cori and Liam’s Engagement Shoot –

This couple was my first couple to book for 2013!  Cori and I met up quite a while ago – and of course I was thrilled when she confirmed that they wanted me to be their photographer.  The original plan was to keep it simple, and they did not select a package with an engagement shoot.  About a month ago, I received a message from her saying that they had been thinking it may in fact be something they wanted to do.  Their wedding will be held at  Pat’s Barn – in Troy, NY.  So right away I asked if she wanted to keep with the theme and go for something natural outdoors – rural feel.  We brainstormed a bit – and came up with two locations right in Niskayuna – a suburb of Schenectady, NY.  When I tell you that one is located behind the Niskayuna town library – you are probably wondering what could possibly be back there for great photos!  A nature path/preserve is there – nothing very big, but as you can see…. beautiful lines, and perfect for this shoot!

After some time at this little path, we jumped in our cars and headed out to a field down the road.  Another clothing change, and more pics!  Given how much we were able to get to know each other, and seeing them get comfortable in front  of the camera really made me realize how important your engagement session is!   You may not feel like you HAVE to have engagement photos, or that you can create your save the date without them.  You can…. however think past that.  Having an engagement session gives you the opportunity to work with your photographer before your wedding day!  You’ll get to know one another – and feel more comfortable communicating your wishes.  Most of us can say that besides your senior portraits, you have not been in front of a professional camera since!  Everyone gets a bit nervous – something about that black barrel that can spike your nerves.   You’ll feel how quickly this dissipates.  And when you see your gorgeous pictures – well you’ll be even more excited about your wedding photos.  Confident, that without question – they will be stunning!
